We’ve been perfecting the best virtual studio performances for years. Find out how we can help you with better sounding audio.
We Are Different. We'll Admit It.
It's What Makes Us Uniquely... Us.
HamsterBall Studios is an international company providing the world's best talent for your voice, music and sound design.
Our job is to get the best talent and the best audio for your project and your budget. So we aggressively use technology to both expand our talent pool world-wide and to minimize costs.
We believe in the practicality of controlling overhead (and therefore pricing) by maintaining facilities that are creative and productive places, not ego-feeding impractical showrooms.
We believe that the best compliments are not awards or inflated margins, but whether or not a client comes back.
And we believe that if you come to us, no matter how large or small your project, when we accept the responsibility to take it on it will be done right.
As a road-proven keyboard player in touring rock and roll bands, Randy Ryan figured out that your office is wherever you are, as long as you can do the job you were hired to do. While some of our best talent comes from L.A. or New York City, it also comes from the Midwest, Central America, Canada, Europe, Asia and even Australia. We have talent from almost every continent, because that's where we find the right talent for each project. (By the way, if you know any exceptional talent in Antarctica...)
After thousands of digital productions, we have found our groove in working with the world's best talent in voice, music and sound design for gaming, digital media, and broadcast. Give us a call and we'll start the conversation about helping you with your next project.
"Randy just gets it. When it comes to establishing the right tone and cadence when we work with voice talents, he has that experience and direction that truly is so beneficial in getting the most out of bringing our written words to life."
Senior Motion Director
Blizzard, scrutinous with their character development, came to us to find actors with the depth and range to voice their main characters for WoW. Our network proved valuable as we were able to provide actors from across the U.S. and outside the country that molded and shaped the Alliance and the Horde, and brought characters such as Yrel, Wraithion, Ga’Nar, Zul, Hagara and Rotag Gorash to life.
HamsterBall was asked to create an original “Bene-song” for their Girl O’Clock Rock kit that would play when the collection was opened. A fun collaboration ensued between us, a writer at Benefit, and the singer-songwriters who harmonized their way to a girl power anthem.
"Over the years, we’ve done a monster truck game with a booming, testosterone fueled voiceover and punk honkytonk soundtrack; countless voiceovers in different styles; and most recently recorded an original “girl pop” song. Not only was it perfect, but the process was painless and fun. I can’t tell you how unusual that is in this business.
Bottom line: I have total confidence in HamsterBall because they’re creative,
have incredible range, and always deliver
a world-class product."
Global Lead Storyteller
"I’ve been using HamsterBall exclusively for all VO projects for several years. Their talent pool is top-of-the-line and their editing and sound quality can’t be beat. Whether I’m recording a Web video or national TV spot, my favorite thing is the speed. From casting, to recording to final output, their responsiveness and sense of urgency is ideal for fast turn-around projects."

What started as a collection of online tutorials for potential LendingTree customers morphed & grew in scope, and now HamsterBall is providing turnkey voice-over casting & producing for LendingTree’s broadcast and online campaigns.
"I've been working with HamsterBall Studios, and Randy specifically,
for over a decade. He gets first call for all my voice over needs. He's professional, reliable, talented and I always get outstanding results. He just makes the job easy and I trust my projects will get the best talent, performance and audio quality. Always on time, and at a great value."
There's More To Virtual Recording Than Meets The Eye.
We've been preparing for this moment for a very long time.
Many people are now discovering, out of necessity, that virtual recording is their best or even only option to record audio. It takes far more than a microphone and a laptop to create great audio. In fact, even with the best recording gear, a lack of experience and expertise often leads to inadequate or even unusable audio. Capturing great audio requires proper recording, engineering, editing, processing, and mastering, all on top of identifying, coordinating, contracting and directing the right talent for the job
Hamsterball Studios has the experience and expertise that makes all the difference for your virtual recording. We’ve been recording virtually for over two decades. During that time we’ve learned a lot! We’ve made plenty of mistakes, and used those lessons learned for better results. We’ve built long-standing relationships with talent and studios across the country and around the world, vetting technical and talent performances with a discerning ear to deliver exactly what is needed for each project. You might say we’ve been preparing for this moment for a very long time!
Working virtually requires different, yet similar skills and expertise. There is a need to vet actors, their recording environments, and how well they work in virtual sessions. Advising Directors and Producers on what to ask about in advance of a session, and be aware of and listen for during a session helps avoid the disaster that wouldn’t be apparent until unusable raw files arrive after the session is over. Good ears are essential for good audio.
Better Technical Know-How.
Sometimes the “not so obvious” can throw a wrench into a session and even disrupt a project’s timeline and budget. Talent can't make their DAW and Skype work simultaneously, or they don't understand how to set levels for a dynamic session. In an effort to be responsive, a talent may have an open speaker because they're listening to the director on their phone. Even the best intentions may create issues that are nearly impossible to overcome without better technical know-how.
Some actors have technical skills to engineer their own session while performing, or may be great for promos and spots, but not so much for gaming, or to multiple roles. Others may be phenomenal performers, but may not have a good recording environment or skills to engineer their own sessions. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each talent, and how to bring out their best for your project requires an investment in personal relationships. That’s the foundation that we’ve been building for two decades, and why we can truly say we provide the world’s best talent, virtually anywhere.
We also build the best relationships with our clients. We understand what our clients need and expect in their finished audio. Face to face or at a distance, we get to know the specifics of each project, tailor a solution for delivering exceptional audio, and provide checkpoints and approvals at each stage of the process, from concepting and casting to capturing, composing and completing your audio. Our exceptional quality control and expertise in the studio provide the confidence that makes us a trusted part of the team, based on the best relationships.
We Are Here To Help.
An unexpected crisis was the catalyst to push all of us toward different ways of creating better audio. The “new normal” that many are adapting to is, quite honestly, our “business as usual”. From vetting actors for performance, technical abilities, and recording environments to vetting studios across the country and around the world who can help with set-ups, evaluations and studio support, we have existing relationships and proven expertise to deliver exceptional audio for your project.
